If you have suffered damage by a foreign vehicle insured by insurance companies TOPDAMARK - Denmark or JAHORINA - Bosnia and Herzegovina or DONARIS - Moldova, you can report the damage directly to our insurance company.

If you have suffered damage from the operation of a foreign vehicle insured elsewhere.

Find out the following information from the person that caused the damage:

  • their name, surname and place of residence,
  • the name, surname and residence or business name and registered office of the owner of the at-fault-vehicle,
  • the registration (license) plate and the international identification number of the country of registration of the at-fault-vehicle
  • the business name and registered office of the insurer with whom the third-party liability insurance was taken out,
  • policy number, insurance card number.

With the other parties involved in the accident, fill in the Accident Report form . Before separating the original from the copy, it is important not only to sign the form, but also to tick the completed accident points and indicate the number of completed points. In addition, provide a plan of the accident site and, if possible, photo documentation of the accident site.

Always try to call the police to an accident. However, it is important to bear in mind that in many countries, police investigate only certain types of accidents, e.g. those involving personal injury, death or extensive material damage.

If-the accident is investigated by the police, sign the police report only if you agree-with its wording. If you disagree, please state your objections. The same applies to the signature on the Accident Report. However, do not sign anything you do not understand or agree with. In many countries, a signed Accident Report is taken as an acknowledgement of fault.

Write down the names and addresses of the drivers of the other vehicles involved, the details of these vehicles (registration number, license plate, type and colour of the vehicle) and the witnesses to the accident - as much as possible within the scope of the information. You should contact the relevant insurer of the driver or operator of the other vehicle to make your claim and to provide documentation proving the liability of the driver or operator of the other vehicle.

If you are unable to contact the relevant insurer or need advice on how to proceed, contact the national office - the information center of the country where the accident occurred. Its address, telephone and fax number can be found at www.cobx.org.

Another option is to contact the Czech Insurance Officewhich will provide you with advice or assistance and give you the contact details of the insurer's claims representative in the Czech Republic. In accordance with the relevant provisions of the 4th EU Motor Directive, or Section 9a of Act No.47/2004 Coll., each insurance company providing motor vehicle liability insurance in one of the European Economic Area (EEA) states is obliged to appoint a claims representative in each EEA member state to handle motor vehicle liability claims on behalf and on behalf of the insurer. The EEA member countries are all EU member countries, plus Norway, Switzerland, Liechtenstein and Iceland. The Czech Insurers' Bureau Information center can help you find a claims representative, which can be found on the website www.ckp.cz. In order to successfully locate a specific claims representative, you need to know: the date of the accident, the state of the accident location, the international license plate number of the at-fault vehicle (MPZ), the license plate number of the at-fault vehicle, and the name of the insurer of the at-fault vehicle. After entering all the required data, you will get information on who is the claims representative of the insurer of the pest vehicle for the territory of the Czech Republic.

In case you are unable to find the relevant claims representative on the above-mentioned websites, you can contact the Czech Insurance Office on +420 221 413 111 or the national office - information center of the country where the at-fault-vehicle is usually based (according to the MPZ).

If you have been injured in an accident in a foreign country by an undetected or uninsured vehicle, you can contact the Guarantee Fund of the country where the accident occurred or the Compensation Authority of the country where the injured person resides or has his/her registered office to ask how to proceed with your claim.
